Tsugami Make Ready Process Ensures Precision Before Delivery

When investing in small parts machining equipment, confidence matters at every stage. You need to know the machine can run your part as expected, and you need to know it will be properly prepared before it reaches your floor.

Through its partnership with Tsugami America, Precision360 provides access to both presales validation through the Process Development Center, post purchase preparation through the Make Ready Facility,  and turnkey project support when needed.  This structured approach helps reduce uncertainty before the investment is made and supports a smoother startup once the machine is installed.

Before You Buy: Testing Your Part in the Process Development Center

Before a machine is purchased, your part can be tested in Tsugami America’s Process Development Center.

Instead of relying on projected numbers, you can see the machine cut your part in a controlled environment. This helps confirm that the platform you are considering can hold your tolerances, hit your surface finish requirements, and meet expected cycle times.

Full metrology and inspection capabilities are used to verify results, including:

  • Coordinate measuring machine verification
  • Optical and vision system inspection
  • Surface roughness testing
  • Cpk assessment and dimensional analysis
  • Concentricity and feature measurement tools

The Process Development Center can also support prototype development and limited beta production runs. By confirming the process works as expected ahead of time, manufacturers can move into production with more confidence in ramp up and output planning.

After Purchase: The Make Ready Facility

Through Precision360, customers have access to Tsugami America’s ISO 9001:2015 registered Make Ready Facility. This is where machines are prepared to match the exact order before they ship.

The facility has dedicated areas for swiss lathes, multi-function systems, and laser swiss machines. Each machine type is set up in the right environment to ensure it is properly prepared and tested.

Every machine undergoes a structured preparation process that includes:

  • Complete alignment according to Tsugami specifications
  • Model specific setup and inspection procedures

  • Installation of purchased options and accessories
  • Model specific test programs run prior to shipment

In addition to alignment, the team verifies tooling alignment, checks run off tolerances, backs up machine data, and documents the machine and accessories with photos. The machine is then properly wrapped and prepared for transport.

The 30,000 square foot facility is organized into dedicated preparation cells with a team focused specifically on machine setup and validation. Clear, repeatable workflows help ensure each system is configured, inspected, and documented before it leaves the facility.

Ongoing Support Through Precision360

Testing your part before purchase and preparing the machine before shipment are important steps. Just as important is having support once the machine is installed and running production.

After the machine has completed the Make Ready process, turnkey projects can be completed directly on the machine. This allows the final production process, tooling package, and part program to be fully developed and confirmed before full production begins.

Precision360 stays involved after installation to help keep your equipment performing as expected by providing:

  • Installation coordination and startup assistance
  • Local service and technical support
  • Preventive maintenance guidance
  • Troubleshooting and parts access
  • A consistent point of contact throughout the machine lifecycle

Through this partnership, customers receive presales validation, post purchase preparation, turnkey development when needed, and long term support from one connected team.
